'Wind' dividers by Jin Kuramoto bring organic forms inside

theface_kuramoto_wind1

Japanese designer Jin Kuramoto created a completely unique room divider in collaboration with Swedish innovative manufacturer Offecct. Just like the name suggests, the Wind line takes inspiration from nature, bringing the beauty of random, organic irregularity into the carefully constructed, architectural context of public spaces. The dividers consist of a concrete base, that hold a fabric stretched over metal tubing.

Forms range from diamond shapes to longer, more rectangular arrangements, all operating with pleasantly rounded edges and soft hues. The pieces look and work best when compiled into various arrangements, the petal-like forms constituting a ‘forest of organic shapes’. Thus, the Wind collection is more of a concept than a single functional object. It aims at adding a touch of nature to formal settings like offices or hospitals. Besides visual isolation, the dividers also dampen acoustics, therefore they offer a piece of harmonious, private island even in the most chaotic settings.
