Moroso presents new textile-focused collection

Moroso premieres its latest seating collection Setting the Elegance in its Milan showroom. The exhibition-like presentation, open until 16 January 2016, marks the end point of a project going on since 2013 which included two previous textile exhibits in Lyon and Milan. For this collection, Moroso worked closely together its textile suppliers Kvadrat and Rubelli. Though the companies are regular collaborators, this project called for a deeper cooperation, making the collection a true joint work of art.

Setting the Elegance takes a reference to the backstage of fashion shows, recalling the moments when the finishes touches are made - exactly those tiny insignificant-looking adjustments that make the audience wow. The attention to detail and the luxury of fine materials was translated to a different kind of design language - Moroso used haute couture textiles for covering their iconic furniture pieces. The application of unusual upholstery is not surprising from the Italian company, but with this collection they managed to take textiles to a whole new level as this time surface is just as important as shape.

The collection includes the dressed-up iconic designs by Moroso’s most coveted designers like David Adjaye, Marcel Wanders, and Patricia Urquiola, just to name a few, and is accompanied by a very special catalogue. The fabric cover and the sophisticated photography show the familiar pieces in a new light, just like the presentation in the Milan showroom.
