EXE Studio's house in the Serbian mountains combines contrasting volumes
The contrast between the light and dark sides of the home is tangible. The light side, which is host to a grand window is entirely clad in ceramic tiles from the outside. It's polygonal shape instantly evokes notions of contemporary architecture, which is further emphasized by its muted color. The dark side of the abode takes inspiration from classic mountain homes, and accordingly it's clad in dark timber.
The intent of merging the contemporary and the traditional is fully realized within the building. The minimal interior also plays into the mix, with its simplicity and bold use of a few key colors. The Divcibare Mountain House is representative of a strong sense of synthesis, with its unique volumes being sympathetic to its surroundings.
