iittala x Issey Miyake blooming home collection
Issey Miyake and iittala teamed up for a very special collection to showcase the minimalistic side of Japan’s and Finland’s rich design heritage. The Nordic brand is specialised mostly in glassware, and collaborated with a range of illustrious designers in the past. Now, with the Miyake collection, they expand their line with some textile and ceramic objects as well. The key concept was to demonstrate how multifunctional a home can be, but placing relaxation in the focus at the same time.
The home accessories line celebrates the rituals of everyday life by evoking a gentle and serene mood. Pastel colours, delicate shapes, inviting textures make the functional objects more homely. Amongst the 30 brand new items we find placemats, totebags, cushion covers, cups, vases, and serving plates, all in blooming, spring colours. The signature Miyake folding method also recalls the awakening of nature, thus the collection provides the perfect chance to bring in the coming spring to the heart of our homes.
