Tamer Nakisci is a Turkish industrial designer dividing his time between London and Istanbul. Though he is designing objects, his works are rather projects; he experiments with the material, visual, and sensual properties to create a spectacular collection of items with a unique, often ethereal quality. His attraction towards sensual solutions is very much traceable in his beautiful vase collection he created for Nude Glass. The containers, available in 3 different sizes, juxtapose transparency and gloom.
The aptly named Mist vases feature rippled surfaces, that lead to an interesting optical illusion. By blurring the contents, shapes become secondary and splashes of colours take centre stage. As a result, their combination with delicate and colourful flowers leave an almost poetic impression, making the two into a new, joint, singular composition. Amongst the three options, one vase works rather as a container. By featuring a wider opening and a horizontal layout, it is capable of holding books and magazines, allowing for further visual arrangements. The Mist collection therefore works well in both home and professional office settings, adapting to its ever-changing contents and function.
