Kutarq Studio's innovative fixture system for Balance mirror
Studio Kutarq is a Valencia-based yet international, young design studio, who create functional, stylish pieces for everyday use, with a playful, geometric twist. Their most recent work is a striking mirror that is just as functional as decorative. The Balance mirror, as the name suggests, looks like it hangs in a delicate composition on the wall that bears no intrusion. This is partially true, as the airy construct’s components were carefully measured to provide safe hanging. The mirror is held by a set of pegs and a reinforced rope, that have to be placed on various key points along the object’s edge.
With bearing these assigned spots in mind, Kutarq’s new fixture system allows for maximum flexibility with almost endless arrangement possibilities. Both the mirrors and the pegs are available in three sizes and three shapes: circle, rectangle, and square. The combination of these geometric forms, coupled with the colourful pegs, lead to a fully functional mirror that looks like a constructivist artwork at the same time, making Balance the ideal home accessory for people who are into simple yet funky solutions.
